Part2.Readingcomprehension-fastreadingandcarefulreading

1.Readingstrategy–predictinginformationinadvance.

Beforeaskingthestudentstoskimthepassage,directtheirattentiontoreadingstrategyfirst.Conducttheactivityasfollows.(onthescreen)

2.Skimming

AskthestudentstoskimthepassageandcompletethethreequestionsofPartAonpage42.

3.Rereadthepassage

Askthestudentstorereadthepassageandidentifywhichstatementsaretrueandwhicharefalse.HavethestudentscompletePartC1individually.Checktheanswerasaclass.StatementsinPartC2aresummariesoftheparagraphs.Askthestudentstomatchthestatementswiththeparagraphs.Checktheanswerasaclass.

Evaluatethestudents’comprehensionbyaskingthemtoidentifytherelationshipsbetweenthesecharacters.(onthescreen)
