MartinLutherKing,Jr.wasthesonofablackBaptist(〈基督教新教〉浸礼会)preacher(牧师).Hismotherwasaschoolteacher.YoungMartinspentafairlyquietchildhoodinAtlanta,Georgia.Afterhighschool,hewenttocollegeandstudiedtobeaminister,likehisfather.Nobodycouldhaveguessed,inthosedays,theplaceinhistorythatMartinLutherKing,Jr.wastohave.

ItallstartedinMontgonery,AlabamaonDecember1,1955.ThebusesinMontgomeryweresegregated(使分离).Blackpeoplehadtositinthebackofthebus,orstand,ifthebackwasfull.Oneday,ablackwoman,RoseParks,wasreturninghomeafterahardday'swork.Shesatinthefrontofthebus,andthenrefusedtogiveupherseattoawhitepassengerwhogotonthebusafterher.RoseParkswasarrested,andtheblackcommunityofMontgomerywasoutraged(引起…的义愤).
