1.Analysisoftheteachingmaterial
本课内容是外语教学与研究出版社,三年级起点,五年级下册第二单元LifeintheArctic的第二课时Thepolarbear。这个课时以chant的形式,描述了北极熊的几个动词短语:jumpinthewater,swimacrossthelake,walkthroughthesnow,runupthehill。同时要注意动词单三形式的搭配与使用。
2.Analysisofthestudents
五年级的学生在学了两年半英语的基础上,已经能够对一些话题进行简单的谈论和交流,这一课时又是以学生喜欢的chant的方式来呈现他们喜欢的动物thepolarbear,因此能极大的激发他们学习的热情与积极性。但同时,五年级的学生已经产生了害羞的情感,对于能够开口说唱,动手做动作可能会放不开。
3.TeachingObjectives:

Ss:ItistheArctic.(同时教授并复习单词theArctic,引出单元课题:LifeintheArctic.)
T:Next,I’llshowyouavideoabouttheArctic,andnowlet’sjustenjoythebeautyoftheArctic.So,welcometotheArctic!(播放关于北极的视频,让学生进入情境。)
Step2Presentation
(1)(看完视频后)T:Afterwatchingthemovie,canyoutellmewhat’soverthereintheArctic?WhatanimalsdoyouknowintheArctic?
Ss:theseal,thepolarbear,theArcticfox,theArctichare,thesnowyowl.
(学生边说边出示图片并教授复习动物单词。)

T:Now,class,canyouguessmyfavouriteanimal?(老师边说边出示图片,并配以相应动作)Ithasgotfourlegs.Itisbigandfat.ItlivesintheArctic.Itcanswim.Iteatsthehare.Sowhocantellmewhatisit?
Ss:Itisthepolarbear.(再次教授单词)
(2)Lookatmyfavouriteanimal,whocantellmewhat’shedoingoverthere?(老师出示相应图片,并请学生回答)Heisjumping.Heisswimming.Heisrunning/walking.Heisdancing.
(3)Next,wewilllistentoasongaboutmyfavouriteanimal,thepolarbear.Canyoutellmewhatdoeshewant?(第一次听歌曲,带着问题整体感知)Ss:Hewantsahare.(老师出示动作图片,教授单词catch.并学说句子Hewantstocatchahare.)
(4)出示图片,并告诉学生Itisnoteasytocatchthehare.并教授单词hill,lake,snow.
(5)Whatdoeshedotocatchthehare?(请学生根据图片说出下列句子)
Hejumpsinthewater.Heswimsacrossthelake.Hewalksthroughthesnow.Herunsupthehill.(并听课本这一段的录音学唱,并配以动作。)
(6)sayandorder(根据刚刚的学唱,请同学们根据北极熊图片说出whatdoeshedo?并听音排序)
(7)Intheend,dosehecatchthehare?(教授最后一段歌曲,并学说top,cometoastop,lookaround,what’snotthere?)
Step3Practice
(1)(整体呈现歌曲,并第二次听录音学唱)学生边唱边做,并配以节拍和动作。
(2)第三次听录音,并请同学上来展示动作并学唱。
(3)不听录音,整体唱一遍并配以动作。
Step4Production
(1)(在课堂开始之前,就给每个小组发了一张LifeintheArctic的paper和若干北极动物动作的卡贴。在整堂课中,如有同学回答对问题,便可以为小组获得一张卡贴。)在学完整首chant后,请同学们拿出每组的卡纸和获得的卡贴,制作自己的chant.
(2)制作之前,PPT呈现并为学生讲解一个范例,并提供可能会用到的词汇。同时强调使用单词的正确形式。
(3)小组合作制作chant,老师展示自己的chant,并给小组成员以指导。
(4)完成之后,请小组推选同学上台展示并朗读。
Step5Progress
播放小视频,让学生了解北极熊的生活现状及所面临的威胁,并让学生从身边的小事做起,节能环保,为爱护动物做出自己的一份贡献。
Step6Homework
1.Singanddacewiththemusic.(跟着音乐学跳chant)
2.Finishedyourposterandshowitinclass.(完成海报并向全班展示)
3.CollectsinformationaboutthepolarbearandtheArctic.(收集有关北极熊和北极的相关资料,进行了解)
